Sewing your own mattress cover is very simple - it's basically a square! And you can make the settlement as simple or ornate as you wish. You can even add the pipes that special touch.

Suitable fabrics and notions

For the fabric, you can use almost anything! Heavy upholstery soft silks, cushion covers come in all varieties.

How much to buy fabric

To make your pattern

Fold the fabric in half with the right side together. Now, mark your squares (including the tab) with tailors chalk and cutting. Simply dial the number spaces equal to the number of covers that you are doing, and has doubled in the tissue.

If using the button closure, you can do this using a single layer of fabric, as some of its places are of different sizes (to allow button closure times). In this case, you have to mark double the number of seats to cushion covers, we only have a single layer of cloth.

To compensate

With right together, sew both side seams and the bottom of the cushion cover together. Warning - If you are using a close button, put down the seams 5 / 8 "at the top so you can hem the top edges individually.

Zip closure: the mark at the top edges of the fabric where the zipper will be placed, and sew the outer edge until the end of the zipper on both sides. Iron the seam open. Now pin your postcard in your place and sew.

Pop or velcro closure: to unite the top seam of the outer edge about 1 ½ "or 4 cm. Do the same in the other side. Iron the seam open. The section of the opening edge of the seam (so that when separated from the closure to remove the cover seam keeps the cushion). You can connect your pop or Velcro closures.

Close Button: Pin of compensation standard hem at the top of your pillow period. Repeat on the top of others.
